Soy milk is a great alternative to dairy milk if you’re vegan, lactose intolerant, or you just prefer something other than regular milk. You can spice up your soy milk with a variety of different flavors, like chocolate, blueberry, and cinnamon. You can also experiment with different flavor combinations, like peanut butter and banana, to find out what you like best. Store the flavored soy milk in the fridge so you always have a tasty treat!

Mixing Soy Milk with Cocoa Powder

Heat ¼ cup (59.2 mL) of soy milk in the microwave for 15 seconds. Heat the soy milk in a microwave safe container. The soy milk should be steaming when you take it out of the microwave. To make more than one serving, heat more milk and increase the amount of cocoa powder you use accordingly.

Add 1 ½ teaspoons (7.4 mL) of cocoa powder to the soy milk. Any kind of cocoa powder you find at the grocery store will work. Stir the cocoa powder into the soy milk with a spoon until there are no clumps.

Stir in 1 ½ teaspoons (7.4 mL) of granulated white sugar. For a healthier alternative, use ¾ teaspoons (3.7 mL) of honey instead of sugar.

Pour the chocolate soy milk into a drinking glass. Pour ¾ cup (177.5 mL) of cold unflavored soy milk into the glass and stir the two together. Put a straw in the glass and enjoy!

Adding Fruit

Put 1 cup (236.6 mL) of soy milk in a blender. Use cold soy milk if you’ll be drinking the milk right away. Add more milk to the blender if you want to make more than one serving. If you're making more than one serving, adjust the ingredients accordingly. For example, if you're using 3 cups (709.8 mL) of soy milk instead of just 1 cup (236.6 mL), use three times as much fruit jam.

Add 2 tablespoons (29.6 mL) of fruit jam to the blender. You can use any kind of fruit jam you like, like blueberry jam, raspberry jam, or mango jam. Use 1 tablespoon (14.8 mL) of one flavor and 1 tablespoon (14.8 mL) of a different flavor for a fruitier taste. You can also blend the soy milk with ¼ cup of frozen fruit instead of the fruit jam.

Puree the soy milk and fruit jam until they look fully blended. Press and hold the puree button on your blender to puree the milk and fruit. The milk may look frothy after you blend it.

Pour the soy milk into a glass and serve. Serve with cookies and dunk them in the fruity soy milk for an added treat! Store leftover soy milk in a plastic or glass bottle in the fridge. Mark the expiration date for the soy milk on a piece of tape and stick it to the bottle so you don't forget.

Blending with Spices

Pour 1 cup (236.6 mL) of soy milk into a blender. If you’re going to be drinking the milk right after you blend it, use cold soy milk. Use more soy milk and add more spice if you want to make multiple servings.

Add ½ teaspoon (2.5 mL) of a spice of your choice to the blender. Try cinnamon, lavender, or pumpkin spice. You can also combine different spices to get a more complex flavor.

Add 1 tablespoon (14.8 mL) of honey to sweeten the soy milk. Skip adding the honey if you’d prefer an unsweetened soy milk that’s spicier. If you don't like the taste of honey, add 1 tablespoon (14.8 mL) of sugar instead.

Puree the soy milk and spices in the blender. Use the puree button on your blender if it has one. Puree the mixture until the soy milk and spices look fully blended.

Serve the spiced soy milk in a glass. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and enjoy! If you have leftover milk, pour it into a plastic or glass bottle and store it in the fridge. Write the expiration date listed on the soy milk's original packaging on a piece of tape. Stick the tape on the bottle so you know when it goes bad.

Experimenting with Different Flavors

Make peanut butter banana soy milk. Add 1 cup (236.6 mL) of soy milk, 1 tablespoon (14.8 mL) of peanut butter, and ¼ of a frozen banana to a blender. Blend the ingredients until the soy milk is smooth.

Try vanilla cinnamon soy milk. Pour 1 cup (236.6 mL) of soy milk into a jar. Add ½ teaspoon (2.5 mL) of pure vanilla extract and ¼ teaspoon (1.2 mL) of ground cinnamon to the jar. Top it off with 2 teaspoons (9.9 mL) of honey. Put the lid on the jar and shake the jar until the ingredients are all combined.

Flavor soy milk with matcha green tea and lavender honey. Add 1 cup (236.6 mL) of cold soy milk to a drinking glass. Stir 2 tablespoons (29.6 mL) of lavender honey syrup and 1 teaspoon (4.9 mL) of matcha green tea powder into the soy milk. Stir the mixture until the ingredients are well combined.
