Use videos in your Stories. People like engagement. A video is more engaging than a picture, so you can use that to your advantage! You'll want to make your video a 4k video even if you don't have 4k footage, so when it's compressed, it isn't compressed to a horrible quality since Instagram compresses 4k differently.

Tease your Instagram Story on your feed. If you have a published Story but not as many views as you'd like, you can post a picture from the Story to your Instagram feed with a link to your Story. Your teaser will then show up in your feed and the feeds of all your followers, increasing the chance that people will view your Story.

Be active on Instagram. If you post at least 4 times a day, you're more likely to catch viewers than if you post 3 times a week. The more people see you around, commenting, liking, sharing, the more chances you have that people will view your Stories. Effectively Using Tags and Stickers

Use appropriate hashtags in your Story. If your Story features a dog and a computer, make sure you tag those two items, so people looking for "dogs" and "computers" will get your Story in the search results. You have the opportunity to do this in your Story by tapping the Aa icon and using the "#" symbol.

Mention other users in your Story. Chances are, if you mention someone like a band, their followers will view the Story as well. When you're editing your Story, you should tag relevant people by tapping the Aa icon and using the "@" symbol. For example, if you post a Story about waiting in line to meet a band, you'll want to hashtag (#) or mention (@) that band so their followers will see your Story.

Use location-based tags. If you take a video in the Grand Canyon, you'll want to add a location-based tag (you can find it in the smiley-face icon when you're editing the clip) to attract people in that area to view your Story. People will only be able to find your Story by location if your account are public.

Use music, questions, and polls to engage followers. On the editing page, you can tap the smiley-face sticky note icon to get to the sticker page. You can add music, ask a question, create a poll, include a countdown, and prompt your viewers to take a quiz.
