Sending Smart Replies

Open Gmail on your iPhone or iPad. It’s the red and white envelope icon typically found on the home screen.

Tap a message you want to reply to. This opens the message.

Scroll down to the bottom of the message. You’ll see boxes at the bottom with possible responses. These are called Smart Replies.

Tap a Smart Reply. This creates an email draft containing the selected text.

Edit the text (optional). If you want to include anything more in your response (or change the response’s contents), make your changes now.

Tap the Send button. It’s the paper airplane icon at the top-right corner of the message. This sends your response to the sender.
Disabling Smart Reply

Open Gmail on your iPhone or iPad. It’s the red and white envelope icon typically found on the home screen.

Tap the ≡ menu. It’s at the top-left corner.

Scroll down and tap Settings. It’s toward the bottom of the menu.

Tap your account. It’s your email address at the top of the screen.

Slide the ″Smart Reply″ switch to Off iPhone Switch Off Icon. As long as this switch is off, you will no longer be shown suggested responses to messages.
