Prabhas to play Lord Shiva in the upcoming film, Kannappa. The news was confirmed by Vishnu Manchu.

Telugu star Prabhas is likely to play a pivotal role in Manchu Vishnu’s upcoming film Kannappa, latest reports claim. The actor, who was seen playing the role of Lord Ram in Adipurush earlier this year, likely to play the role of Lord Shiva in the movie. The news was shared by trade experts Manobala V and Ramesh Bala on Sunday morning on X, previously known as Twitter. It is also claimed that Kriti Sanon’s sister Nupur Sanon will also be seen in the movie.

“According to Reliable sources, Rebel Star #Prabhas to act in a major important role in Actor #VishnuManchu ‘s dream project #Kannappa – A True Epic Indian Tale!” Ramesh Bala shared. Vishu Manchu confirmed the news by reposting Bala’s post. “❤️ Har Har Mahadev ❤️ #Kannappa ????,” he wrote.

This will be third Godly avatar that Prabhas will be seen in. He was seen playing Lord Ram in Om Raut’s Adipurush in June this year. Rumour has it that his character in Kalki 2898 AD is based on Lord Vishnu.

Kannappa is directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, who is known for his Maha Bharatham series. Kannappa teases a ‘unique’ and ‘captivating’ experience at the cinemas. The film is written by Paruchuri Gopalakrishna, Burra Sai Madhav, and Thota Prasad, and Mani Sharma and Stephen Devasi have been roped in to compose the music. The film is produced by Ava Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory.

Meanwhile, Prabhas has a few other projects in the pipeline. The actor will be seen in Salaar, directed by KGF’s Prashant Neel. The film was slated to release this month but the team decided to delay it. The actor also has Kalki 2829 AD. Prabhas shares the screen with Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Rana Daggubati.
