BANGALORE: In a significant administrative decision, the state government bifurcated the post of Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Bangalore commissionerate, into two divisions - Bangalore West (Crime) and Bangalore East (Crime) - and appointed two senior IPS officers for the newly created posts on Tuesday.In a notification issued on Monday, Pranob Mohanty who was recently posted to Lokayukta police as DIG, has been transferred as Joint Commissioner of Police Bangalore West division.Another senior IPS officer, Dayananda B, DIG Intelligence, is transferred as Joint Commissioner of Bangalore East.Alok Kumar, DIGP and Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Bangalore, has been transferred with immediate effect and posted as DIGP and Commander Anti Naxal Force, Udupi.Paul Amrit, DIGP and Commander Anti Naxal Force Udupi was transferred and posted as DIGP KSRP in the existing vacancy.The government also transferred Sharat Chandra K V, DIGP, HQ-I, Bangalore, and posted as the new DIGP Intelligence, Bangalore.This is the first ever mini reshuffle of senior police officials after D V Sadananda Gowda took over as chief minister.Earlier, the state government had posted Jeevan Kumar Gaonkar as the new ADGP and Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar as SP in Lokayukta wing respectively after the appointment of the new Lokayukta Justice Shivaraj Patil.
