BANGALORE: A 28-year-old software engineer was killed, after a lorry rammed into her moped on Friday morning in Byatarayanapura traffic police station limits. The deceased has been identified as Ramya R Kamath, a resident of KPA block in Chandra Layout.The incident took place at Athiguppe, while she was going to her office on her moped towards Vijayanagar and was waiting to cross the Chord Road signal.Ramya died on the spot, after the lorry carrying gas cylinders rammed into her moped at the signal and the rear wheels of the lorry ran over her, the police said.Ramya, a native of Udupi was working as a processing executive at a private firm in Shanthinagar.She was married and has a child.The lorry driver identified as Rudresh has been arrested. Byatarayanapura traffic police are investigating the case.Worker killedBangalore: In another incident, a 52-year-old man was killed, after he was hit by an unidentified vehicle in Malleshwara Traffic Police station limits on Thursday night.The deceased has been identified as Ramappa, a resident of Mahalakshmipura.He was a daily wage labourer and was walking near Modi Road junction, when the accident took place.The Malleswara traffic police are investigating the case.Car topples, techie diesBangalore: A 62-year-old software engineer was killed, after his car toppled over on to a pavement, in Electronic City Traffic Police station limits on Friday morning.The deceased has been identified as S Rajagopalan, a resident of KS Layout, II stage. He was working for a software firm in Electronic City and was driving to work on the NICE Road.While driving towards Electronic City, he attempted to overtake a tempo from the left side. In the process, the car got stuck between the tempo and the pavement and topped over on to the pavement under the Basapura Bridge, 500 meters away from Electronic City toll plaza.Rajagopalan was shifted to a private hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, Electronic City Traffic Police said.Speeding bike kills womanBangalore: In another accident reported from OMBR Layout Road on Wednesday, a 43-year-old woman died, after she was hit by a speeding bike.The deceased has been identified as Panchamaragadhamma, a resident of Chikka Banaswadi.The police said that the bike hit her while she was crossing the road.A case has been registered in K R Pura traffic police station in connection with the incident.
