BANGALORE: Encouraged by the public response to Sakala programme, the state government will now extend it the State Secretariat and bring in 29 more services under its purview.Sakala was formulated to deliver state services on a time-bound manner.Speaking at a seminar on the book Jaithra Yatre written by additional chief secretary K Jairaj here on Sunday, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Suresh Kumar said, “Sakala has really given the much-needed satisfaction to the state.It has brought smiles on the faces of the citizens.”Kumar added that around 11 lakh applications were received since May 1 and out of which 986 percent have been cleared within the stipulated time. “Good administration can emerge from an administrator, only if he has foresight and creativity.Encouragement is the oxygen for the administrators,” he said.However, he lamented that the media had only highlighted the negative aspects of the administration.Chairman of the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission Srinivas Murthy called for a social commitment on the part of politicians, without which, according to him, it was difficult to expect government servants to be efficient “We all know what the administrative problems are and what the solutions are.We need leaders at the administrative and political level to listen to our suggestions and implement it for better administration.”Jairaj handed over the remuneration he got from the sale of his book to Association for Mentally Challenged, Bangalore and Sri Krishna Sevashrama Hospital.Head of State Intelligence Gopal B Hosur also spoke on the occasion
