35-year-old factory worker dies while crossing railway track

A factory worker died while crossing a railway track after being hit by a train in Kanpur, the police said on Saturday.

Vinod Kushwaha (35), a resident of Dulbhug village used to work at a private factory in Raniya. On Friday evening, he was crossing the railway track when he was hit by the train, following which he died on the spot, they said.

According to the villagers, Kushwaha was talking on his mobile phone due to which he could not hear the sound of the coming train. But the police have denied having any such knowledge.

The deceased's family has been informed and his body has been sent for post-mortem, the police said, adding that the case is being investigated.
