New Delhi: The Punjab Police on Wednesday filed two forgery cases against B I S Chahal, the media adviser to former Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh, and claimed they found guns at his house.
Police filed new charges against Chahal, who is under arrest in connection with the Ludhiana City Centre scam, after a car dealer and a caterer accused him duping them.
Jagatjit Singh, who owns a car showroom in Patiala, alleged Chahal took new Mercedes Benz from him in 2005 and never returned it. Jagatjit alleged that Chahal got the car registered in his own name on the basis of fake papers.
Police filed a case of forgery and cheating against Chahal after Kanwaljit Singh, a Mohali-based caterer, accused him of not paying for a modular kitchen worth Rs 15.
Police alleged they found two pistols and two revolvers at Chahal’s house in Patiala and suspect the weapons were used to grab the land of a farmer in Daad village.
Chahal has sought the transfer of the case registered against him at Ludhiana Sadar police station by the Punjab Police to the CBI.
In a petition filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, he has also sought directions to the state Vigilance Bureau for giving an advance notice of seven days if he was to be arrested or questioned
