New Delhi: Suspects in the sensational Noida double murder case — Dr Rajesh Talwar's compounder Krishna and Talwars' family friends Durrani's domestic help Rajkumar — will apply for bail on Thursday.
As per law if the investigative agency is unable to file the chargesheet against the accused within the stipulated 90-day period, the accused can apply for statutory bail.
Which is what is likely in Krishna's case as the CBI has missed its deadline. And Krishna's 90 days in custody comes to an end.
Rajkumar's lawyers have got his bail application transferred from the sessions court to the CBI court. And they will also try and push for his bail application on Thursday itself.
If the CBI lawyer agrees, then Rajkumar's bail plea will be heard on Thursday.
Last week, on September 4, Talwar's neighbour's servant Vijay Mandal – an accused in the case - was released on bail.
If Krishna is granted bail, it will be the third accused in the case to be released, who the CBI failed to gather evidence against.
First the CBI arrested Arushi's father Dr Rajesh Talwar and then who was later given bail as no evidence was found against him. Later CBI arrested Krishna, Rajkumar and Vijay Mandal.
It's been four months since Arushi and Hemraj were murdered at the Talwars residence in Noida. The CBI, which took over the case and arrested four people in connection with the murder, seem to have made little headway.
