KOCHI: The Union government has been involved with various corruption charges, said Milind Marathe, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) national president. He was speaking at the inauguration of ABVP’s four-day National Executive Council in Kochi on Thursday.“The increasing incidents of naxalism is another major challenge faced by the nation these days. It has become a socioeconomic as well as a law and order issue in the country. The naxals have an anti-democratic and anti-development attitude,” he said, adding that ABVP will not support their activities.Regarding the rampant privatisation of education occurring in the country, Marathe stated that such commercialisation should be viewed seriously. “The ABVP will take up this issue,” he said.The government has started implementing the Right To Education (RTE) Act. Even though there is a paucity of funds, the state governments are executing the act. Milind Marathe pointed out that the killing of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan reveals the brutal face of the Left parties. A couple of Sangh activists were also killed as part of political murders, he said.There are presently about seven bills pending before the Parliament. “The ABVP is keenly observing the discussions over these bills. The National Executive Council will discuss them and formulate suggestions to be presented before the Central government,” he said.ABVP state secretary M Aneesh Kumar received Milind Marathe and ABVP national general secretary Umesh Dutt for the National Executive Council.
