Comedy sensation of the yesteryears, Goundamani is making a comeback, with the film 'Vaaimai'. Directed by debutante Senthil Kumar, a former associate of Vasantha Balan, the movie portrays Goundamani as a cardiologist, Doctor Benny.
Lead roles in the movie are played by 'Sakkarakatti' fame Shanthanuu Bhagyaraj and Muktha Banu. The movie also has Pandiarajan's son Prithvi in a cardinal role.
'Vaaimai' is said to be an action entertainer, for which, Shanthanu has to hit the gym to tone down his physique from what it had been in his previous project 'Ammavin Kaipesi'. Director Senthil Kumar says the story line is rather heavy, which is lightened up by Goundamani, in portions.
Meanwhile, Shanthanu also has a movie 'Amali Thumali' with 'Masilamani' fame Nakulan on the cards. This is directed by KS Adhiyaman, and 'Subramaniapuram' fame Swathi plays a pivotal role.
