ANGUL: In the wake of delay in preparation of the comprehensive development plan (CDP) for Talcher-Angul Meramandali Development Authority (TAMDA), Angul Collector and Vice-Chairman of TAMDA Sib Prasad Mishra has asked an Ahmedabad-based agency to prepare it at the earliest.TAMDA covers Talcher, Angul, Meramandali and Banarpal areas in Angul and Dhenkanal districts. “The industrial area here is one of the fastest growing urban areas in the State as more and more coal and power industries are in the pipeline and there is a need of CDP for TAMDA for appropriate land use,” said Mishra. He said CDP is essential for land use in the areas coming under TAMDA. “When the CDP is available, land zoning can be made identifying the nature of land like green, agricultural and others. Industry and coal- bearing areas will be excluded from the CDP,” he said. The Ahmedabad-based agency - Centre of Environment Planning and Technology - had earlier been asked to submit a plan, but that was rejected due to shortcomings and the agency asked to prepare the CDP again. The agency has promised to submit the plan in four to five months.
