AIYF march turns violent

KOCHI: The march taken out by AIYF activists to Kanayannur taluk office in protest against the state government's stand on admissions to the self-financing colleges here on Thursday turned violent with the activists pelting stones at the police.Police had to use water cannon to disperse the activists who tried to break the barricade put up by the police. Senior leaders present on the spot intervened and brought the situation under control. Many activists and police were injured.
