"Rescue operations which began a while back on the site have rescued one and all," added an official.
Pandaveswar: All 45 workers of a colliery in Pandaveswar of Eastern Coalfield Limited who were stuck inside the coal mine for the last 12 hours have been successfully rescued.
"Rescue operations began a while back on the site and all the miners have be been brought out," said a senior mine official.
According to officials the trolley of the mine was not working because of a technical problem in the broiler which led to miners being trapped inside.
Even though food and water was being sent to the trapped miners, one miner reportedly fell sick. Other workers of the mine allege ECL management of negligence.
ECL operates two coal mines Khottadih and Dalurband in Pandaveswar. The coal mines are located in Burdwan in West Bengal.
