All for wellness

It rained wishes, praises and suggestions at the Raintree hotel on Sunday where a 'first-of-its-kind' wellness magazine called Ashvarttha was launched. Niharika Peri, the editor and publisher of the magazine, couldn't have asked for a better launch as distinguished personalities from different walks of life graced the occasion. The guest list included ghatam exponent Vikku Vinaykram, international film producer Ashok Amritraj, carnatic singer Aruna Sairam, Dr Kamala Selvaraj, cinematographer Ravi K Chandran, writer and publisher Manushyaputhran, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ravi IPS, actress Saranya Ponvannan and popular speaker Ku Gnanasambandhan. Niharika said, "Ashwarttha, physically, means oxygen. Spiritually, it's a tree of life with humans as its roots. The magazine aims to provide an ancient approach to wellness to the modern man." Most of the guests praised the aesthetic design of the magazine. Manushyaputhran said, "It's the right time to launch such a magazine, as about Rs 20,000 crore is estimated to have been invested in the wellness industry." There were also suggestions to bring out the magazine in Tamil as well.
