Bangalore: Former Karnataka Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde, a prominent member of Team Anna, Wednesday accused the Centre of once again trying to "deceive" Anna Hazare on the Lokpal Bill issue.
He also appealed to the Gandhian to end his indefinite fast over the Jan Lokpal Bill issue.
"We want a strong Jan Lokpal Bill but not at the cost of Anna’s health. We have suggested that Anna stop the fast," Hegde, a former Supreme Court judge, told a gathering of anti-corruption protesters in Bangalore.
He alleged the central government was once again trying to "deceive" Hazare on the Lokpal Bill issue.
Referring to illegal mining issue, he said the state legislative assembly would "become empty" if the government acted upon his report.
Meanwhile, anti-corruption protesters continue to camp at the Freedom Park in Bangalore.
While some students displayed stickers of "Jago India" (wake up India) on their cheeks, some others composed music in support of Team Anna's protest.
In Mysore, there were numerous rallies in support of Hazare's fast. The rallies were taken out by law students, traders and association of autorickshaw drivers.
More than 400 shops on KT Street, a hub of electronic trade, and KR Hospital road downed their shutters.
The shop owners holding the tricolour marched through prominent streets before the march culminated at Gandhi Square where they staged a dharna. In Karwar, protesters braved heavy rains and organised rallies across the city.
