TRS wants TJAC to tell BJP to stay away and is attacking BJP for fielding a candidate instead of supporting its nominee.

HYDERABAD: Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) and TRS are on a collision course on several issues. This has led to many Telangana  activists wonder how long would the TJAC last. They believe that Parkal byelection would decide its fate. After the Centre's December 9 statement in 2009 on Telangana, TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao constituted the TJAC with Congress, TDP, BJP, TRS, CPI(ML) New Democracy and TNGOs and several other peoples’ organisations. Though after sometime the Congress and TDP came out of the TJAC, its convener professor M Kodandaram led the TJAC activities all over the region. In the recently held Mahbubnagar Assembly byelections, both BJP and the TRS contested. Though the TJAC kept away from the warring factions, local leaders in Mahbubnagar supported the BJP, which “contributed” to the defeat of TRS. The TJAC is again in a spot as two of its constituents, the TRS and the BJP carry on their tussle over the latter contesting the bypolls for Parkal Assembly seat. Fearing a Mahbubnagar replay at Parkal, TRS leaders want the TJAC to advice the BJP to stay away from the bypolls. But with the BJP leadership in no mood to adhere to it , TRS is now attacking the BJP for fielding a candidate instead of supporting its nominee. While Kodandaram is maintaining a studied silence on the issue, sources said that the TRS is upset over the TJAC and TNGO leaders leaning towards the BJP in Mahbubnagar bypolls, and now taking a similar position ahead of the Parkal bypolls.TRS and the BJP did not participate in the recent  TJAC bus yatra. Another constituent of the TJAC CPI(ML) New Democracy is also maintaining a low profile. Other members of the TJAC were putting pressure on the leadership to take a firm decision on building political unity. Kodandaram said he would take a decision on the byelections only after meeting with TRS, BJP chiefs. . TNGO,  another main constituent of the TJAC, opined the TRS and BJP should enter a pact on continuing the separate Telangana movement.
