HYDERBAD: The Andhra Praesh Civil Liberties Committee, Hyderabad unit, on Friday demanded the state government should lift ESMA invoked in various government departments. It also urged the Centre to initiate the process of forming separate Telangana as was being demanded by the Telanagana political JAC.In a press release here, APCLC state vice-president D Suresh Kumar said invoking ESMA in the treasury and other departments, which were not emergency services, proved that it was a conspiracy of the Seemandhra leaders to suppress the Telangana agitation.ESMA, he said, would be invoked only after employees begin their agitation and people get affected by it in due course. "But now, ESMA has been invoked even before the employees have begun their strike," he said.Lingaiah deplored Warangal police for issuing circulars threatening to register criminal cases against teachers participating in the 'sakala janula samme' from August 17. He urged leaders of the Congress and TDP to come clean on Telangana and help in ending political uncertainty in the state.He also demanded removal of barbed wire around the martyrs memorial near Gun Park.
