Apple's website confirms iPhone 5 name
The name for the new iPhone has been confirmed by Apple's own search tool on its website.

New Delhi: It's almost clear now that Apple's new iPhone will be called the "iPhone 5", but we are still waiting to hear the same from Apple's CEO Tim Cook at Apple's event, which will begin shortly at San Francisco's Yerba Buena Centre for the Arts.

The name for the new iPhone has been confirmed by Apple's own search tool on its website. According to reports, Apple published four articles about the iPhone 5, including the official iPhone 5 press release, on its website hours before the official announcement. However, the links are not live now.

"The articles – including an official press release, titled "Apple introduces iPhone 5", and an iPhone 5 tips page – appeared on the website at least three hours before Apple's press conferences in San Francisco and London," mentioned the UK-based Guardian in its report.

This slip-up is the strongest clue yet that Apple will call the sixth version of the iPhone, the iPhone 5.

Apple's new iPhone is widely expected to offer 4G wireless technology for the first time, and a 4-inch display, up from the current 3.5 inches. But it remains to be seen if Chief Executive Tim Cook has any surprises up his sleeve, and if he will show off any technological breakthroughs that can put the iPhone 5 head and shoulders above the competition.

What's your reaction?
