Assets declaration deadline extended

BHUBANESWAR: The last date for submission of property lists by ministers has been extended to September 4.Sources said three ministers failed to submit their property lists to the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik before August 31.  They failed to meet the deadline because of holidays from August 31 to September 2.However, pressure is mounting on the Chief Minister to make the property statements of the ministers public as has been done by the Prime Minister and his Cabinet. The last time the ministers had made their property statements public when Biju Patnaik was the chief minister between 1990 to 1995.
