HYDERABAD: Union minister and Congress incharge of AP affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad on Sunday appealed to Telangana employees to withdraw their Sakala Janula Samme keeping in view people’s sufferings and forthcoming festivals.Speaking to media on his arrival at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport en route to Prakasam district this morning, Azad said the Centre would resolve the Telangana issue at the earliest.Discussions on T issue with the Telangana and Seemandhra Congress leaders were over and there is a need to hold talks at the national level in this regard. The common man is facing severe hardships due to the ongoing strike.“Telangana employees have been on strike for the past 20 days paralysing the general administration in the region. I appeal to them to withdraw their strike as lakhs of people are suffering to get essential commodities and to reach their destinations due to lack of bus transport facility. Already Navaratri festival has started and more festivals are coming. Besides, power cut is imposed in the city and supply of power to the farm sector is affected. Power generation has come down due to shortage of coal. Even daily labourers do not have work due to the strike. A solution to the Telangana issue will be shown by the Centre as soon as possible,” he added.Answering a query, Azad said Telangana and Kashmir issues were totally different and could not be compared with each other.
