Bakeries to observe October 3 as Cleanliness Day

Bakeries around the state will observe October 3 as ‘Cleanliness Day’, as part of Gandhi Jayanti celebrations. The Bakers Association Kerala (BAKE) decided that all bakeries will be closed and cleanliness procedures will be done.

BAKE state president P M Shankaran said that this is being done as a part of the ‘Bake Fit’ certificate programme, which was kickedoff in August.

The bakers’ association is entitled to distribute good quality food as per the guidelines set by the State Food Safety Commissioner, Shankaran said.

BAKE had earlier played an important role in pressurising the government to exempt foreign investments f o r m s m a l l s c a l e productions.
