New Delhi: Undeterred by warning of another blast, the Delhi High Court Bar Association (DHCBA) members including its president and Additional Solicitor General AS Chandhiok helped security personnel in rushing the injured to hospitals after the deadly explosion at the court premises.
The bar leaders, who rushed to the reception counter at gate number five within minutes of the blast, started lifting the wounded persons despite a warning from security officials that there could be another blast.
"Our aim was to provide treatment to the victims at the earliest," Chandhiok, who was to appear in courts on behalf of Centre in various cases, said.
Senior advocate and Vice President of DHCBA, Kirti Uppal immediately pressed in service the lone ambulance of the bar. Another senior advocate Ramesh Gupta and lawyer RP Luthra were seen helping the victims with their blood-stained clothes.
Lawyers also took victims, who suffered minor injuries, to a Delhi Government dispensary inside the High Court premises. The suitcase bomb ripped through the reception counter on Wednesday at the Delhi High Court killing 11 persons and injuring over 70.
