KOZHIKODE: Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) state general secretary E T Mohammed Basheer has said that Congress leader and minister Aryadan Mohammed’s statement on the apathy of Railways towards the state should be taken with a pinch of salt. “It’s true that the Centre has been ignoring the state on railway development. But, Aryadan should not forget that the state witnessed a record railway development while E Ahmed was the Union Minister of State for Railways,” Basheer said in Kozhikode on Sunday. Earlier, Electricity Minister Aryadan Mohammed, who also holds the Railway portfolio in the state, lashed out against the Centre’s continued negligence towards the railway development of the state and said railway development in Kerala had taken place only during the tenures of Panampilly Govinda Menon and O Rajagopal as railway ministers.
