BANGALORE: The Bangalore Canine Club is hosting the twenty first, twenty second and twenty third All Breed Championship Dog Show at Emerald Heights, Palace grounds on the November 26 and 27. The Canine Club along with the Kennel Club of India opened its registrations at their office since October 30. The registrations will close on the November 17. R Rajalakshmi of the Kennel Club said, “A dog show is like a beauty contest for dogs. There are more than 300 registered breed and each breed has a specified breed standard as per international norms. While judging, the judge basically looks at how close to that breed standard each dog resembles.” She further continued to explain, “There are seven classes in each breed according to the age group. Among the winners of these classes, the judge will select the 'Best of Breed' and Best of group', after which the 'Best of Groups' will be selected.” The show will also witness a Junior Handling competition where children exhibiting their handling skills with their pet will be awarded the Best Junior Handler prize. The judges are Jackie Perry from Thailand, Dr Zafra Sirik from Israel and Rajiv Shandilya from Delhi.
