BHUBANESWAR: The biker gang, cocking a snook at the Commissionerate Police, on Tuesday struck again targetting two women and snatching jewellery off them in broad daylight and at crowded locations in two incidents.The first victim of the alleged gang is a librarian, returning home at N3 IRC village under Nayapalli police station limits in the afternoon. The woman Sanghamitra Dalbehera had withdrawn about Rs 15,000 from an ATM near Biju Patnaik College on her way back.As soon as she entered the premises of her residence at N3 and parked her scooty, she found two youths alighting from a bike and approaching the gate. They came inside and asked for an address. She denied knowledge of the address and was turning around when one of the youths grabbed her and asked for the scooty keys. She however, managed to throw the key outside the compound.The miscreants then allegedly whipped out a revolver and snatched the gold chain from the hapless woman’s neck at revolver-point and made away. They were allegedly accompanied by two others in another bike.They had apparently followed her and were in knowledge of her money withdrawal from ATM and possession of it. The two carried out the robbery while the others waited outside in another bike. They immediately fled.In another incident, a young woman fell victim to bike-borne miscreants in a busy thoroughfare at Sahid Nagar in the evening. The woman was walking through the road near Basudev Woods when the bike-borne youths approached her.They also allegedly snatched the chain at gunpoint from her neck and easily made away.
