Bill to develop ports on PPP Model tabled

BANGALORE: The state government on Friday tabled in the Assembly a Bill providing for developing all ports in the state on a public private partnership (PPP) model.Minister of Ports and Inland Water Transport, Ecology and Fisheries J Krishna Palemar introduced the Karnataka Maritime Board Bill, 2011 in the Assembly.“The Board shall be able to find means to undertake various development projects and maintenance activities relating to ports, harbours, inland waterways and coastal protection, thereby help in the growth and development of the coastal region and its hinterland,” said a statement of the Bill.
