Colombo: Wicket-keeper Mark Boucher will captain South Africa during the triangular series with Sri Lanka and India in August.

Boucher takes over from Ashwell Prince who was appointed stand-in captain for the two-Test series underway against Sri Lanka.

"With Ashwell not a certainty in our One-Day side, we have asked Mark to captain the team," South Africa's national convenor of selectors Haroon Lorgat said in Colombo.

The decision was announced after South Africa lost the first Test by an innings and 153 runs.

Batsman Loots Bosman and bowlers Johannes van der Wath, Robin Peterson and Roger Telemachus have been drafted into a 14-man squad.

"In Loots Bosman we hope to unearth his ability to power an innings off to an explosive start," Lorgat said.

"The talented young off-break bowler Thandi Tshabalala backs up left-arm spinner Robin Petersen as we want to provide Thandi with as much exposure as possible to develop spin bowling options," he added.

Hahim Amla, Jacques Rudolph, Dayle Steyn and Nicky Boje will return home after the Test series.

All rounder Jacques Kallis, Justin Kemp and Charl Langevelt were not considered due to injuries.

The tri-series will be played in Colombo from 14-29 August.

One-Day squad:

Mark Boucher (captain), Boeta Dippenaar, Loots Bosman, Herschelle Gibbs, AB de Villiers, Shaun Pollock, Johannes van der Wath, Robin Peterson, Andrew Hall, Andre Nel, Makhaya Ntini, Ashwell Prince, Roger Telemachus, Thandi Tshabalala.
