BANGALORE:State JD(S) chief HD Kumaraswamy challenged both Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa as well as leader of the Opposition Siddaramaiah to furnish proof and hold an inquiry into his alleged involvement in corrupt deals during his tenure as CM or tender an unconditional apology.“Both Yeddyurappa and Siddaramaiah have indulged in a malicious campaign.While the CM says that he will expose me and my family’s corruption, Siddaramaiah says that the BJP government is continuing the corruption which was started by me. Let them order any probe,” Kumaraswamy told reporters here on Monday.He said he is ready for a public debate on the matter.According to Kumaraswamy, a Congress delegation led by former chief minister Dharam Singh had submitted a memorandum to the President accusing him of indulging in corrupt practices.“But the memorandum did not speak of the Rs150 crore bribery charge against Bellary MLC and mine baron G Janardhana Reddy. How is it that suddenly Siddaramaiah has seen corruption during my tenure?,” the JD(S) leader said.Lambasting Yeddyurappa for putting pressure on the officials to dig out the benami properties of the Gowda family, Kumaraswamy said: “Where will officials get details of the benami property held by me and my family when there is’nt any? I am sorry for the harassment they are undergoing.” Accusing the BJP and Congress of having a deep nexus to protect each other, Kumaraswamy said the Congress lost the opportunity to dismiss the government.While the Congress is protecting the BJP in state with fake protests, the BJP , in turn, is protecting the Congress at the Centre.
