KOLLEGAL: Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa suspected the role of the UPA government at the Centre behind the arrest of former minister and mining baron G Janardhana Reddy.Talking to media persons here on Monday, Yeddyurappa said the Centre had began the politics of rivalry by handing over the mining case to the CBI. The Centre had not handed over any case in states where the BJP was in power. Though there was no case filed against Reddy in Karnataka, he was arrested in connection with a case registered in Andhra Pradesh, Yeddyurappa said, and added that Reddy would come out clean.Earlier, Yeddyurappa, who participated in a function organised by Udbhav Rural Development Institute in Kollegal, said that he would continue his fight for the welfare of six crore people of Karnataka without worrying over losing power. Urging the parents to give education to girl children, Yeddyurappa said he was talking in public only after offering pooja to Lord Mahadeshwara, after his resignation as chief minister.‘Dharmayuddha begins’Condemning the arrest of former minister Janaradhana Reddy, minister M P Renukacharya said the BJP began its “Dharmayuddha” against the Congress from now. “Though Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was named in the 2G scam, the Congress failed to act on him and conspired to have Janardhana Reddy arrested by the CBI,” he alleged.
