Budget analysis session held

KOCHI: The KPMG in association with The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) held a post-Budget analysis session on Tuesday. Tax specialists from KPMG, Sachin Menon, partner and all-India Head, Indirect Tax and Venkatesan R, a practising Chartered Accountant, had made detailed presentations on the economic aspects of the Union Budget-2012 and the key direct and indirect tax proposals, regulatory amendments and policy announcements for the financial year.The speakers dealt with the current economic scenario and the recent happenings with respect to taxation in India.They warned of the wide ramifications brought in by the Union Budget 2012 intended to neutralise various judgments of the courts including the Vodafone decision. The presentation was followed by a panel discussion. S R Nair of Team Frontline Ltd was the moderator. The participants also interacted with panel members.
