CHENNAI: In the closely contested Limca Book of Records quiz, Bala Vidya Mandir (BVM) students emerged as the winners, in the city finals held at Asan Memorial Senior Secondary School here on Saturday. More than 390 city students from 65 schools participated. The top six teams made it to the finals. With quizmaster Andrew Scolt of Derek O’Brien & Associates conducting the finals, the teams were tested on various general topics and questions.Topics were not restricted to South India or Chennai, but had an all India perspective. Vishal Katariya and Rishi Rajasekaran, both of standard XI from BVM kept clinched the first place in the final buzzer round. The teams from Bhavan’s Rajaji Vidyashram and Chettinad Vidyashram were placed second and third respectively. Other teams to make it to the finals included AMM Matriculation, SBOA and Rosary Matriculation.The audience were not left out, as they had their share of fun with the quizmaster. This included an impromptu dance number by six students from various schools. The semi-finals will be held later this year, and the city level winners will be given a chance to compete.
