Four ministers who received Supreme Court notices early this year in a case relating to issuance of 26 GOs by the YSR ministry have decided to file individual petitions in the High Court seeking a ruling whether cabinet’s decisions could be probed by investigating agencies including the CBI.
During an informal interaction with mediapersons here on Friday, home minister P Sabita Indra Reddy and agriculture minister Kanna Lakshminarayana reiterated that they had not committed any mistake or violated any law in issuing the GOs in their capacity as ministers during the regime of Rajasekhara Reddy.
The two, along with J.Geetha Reddy and Ponnala Lakshmiah, had already filed their responses to the notices sent by the apex court.
But, in the backdrop of roads and buildings minister Dharmana Prasada Rao receiving summons to appear in court on September 25, the ministers wanted their arguments to be effectively presented in courts.
“All the GOs were in order and in accordance with the business rules.
We did not commit any mistake,” Sabita and Kanna said.
In the wake of the CBI court’s summons to Dharmana, the four ministers had urged chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy a day ago to order some inquiry to look into the decisions taken by the Rajasekhara Reddy’s cabinet.
But, as they failed to get specific assurance from Kiran Reddy, the four ministers are now planning to approach the court.
