Ghaziabad court asks investigating agency to probe businessman’s role in the murder of young woman.

New Delhi: A Ghaziabad court on Friday ordered the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to again probe the role of businessman Moninder Singh Pandher, an accused in the serial murders in Noida’s Nithari village, in one case.

The CBI, in four charge-sheets, has blamed Pandher’s domestic help Surendra Koli for the 14 murders and absolved the businessman.

The court on Friday asked the agency to probe the abduction and murder of a 21-year-old Pinki Sakar. Pinki’s father, Jaitun Sarkar, has challenged a CBI charge-sheet which accuses Koli of her murder and gives Pandher a clean chit.

Rama Jain, Additional District and Session Judge, CBI, asked the agency to further probe Pandher's role in Pinki’s murder but refused a plea to summon Pandher.

Khalid Khan, Jaitun’s lawyer, said the court’s decision was a victory for Nithari residents. "The court has asked the CBI to re-investigate the issue and see if Pandher should be made a co accused,” said Khan.

Nithari residents said the court order is a step toward justice. “We are happy with the order. Moninder will now be hanged,” said Mukesh, a resident.

“With reinvestigation ordered now, no one can save Pandher,” said Suresh, another resident.

A CBI press release said the agency would comply with the court order.
