BANGALORE: With the police investigation heading nowhere in KAS Officer and Deputy Director with the Directorate of Co-Operative Audit, S P Mahantesh’s murder case the city Police Commissioner B G Jyothiprakash Mirji has handed over the investigation to the Central Crime Branch (CCB).Mahantesh was attacked by unidentified assailants on May 15 and was admitted to Mallige Hospital, where he succumbed on May 20. Till date, the police have not succeeded in finding out the reason behind the murder.No one has been arrested in this connection.Following this, Mirji has transferred the case to CCB on Thursday.Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) of East division B Dayananda, head of CCB said that the Commissioner had handed over the case from jurisdictional police to the CCB. “We will discuss the case with the officers who have investigated it so far. Besides, we will also launch an investigation afresh. The investigation team will be led by Assistant Commissioner of Police of Women and Narcotic squad S Y Guled.”
