Inaugural session of the newly-elected Chhattisgarh assembly will start on January 6 and will have only five sittings.
"The first session of the fourth Assembly of the state will open on January 6 and conclude on January 10," Principal Secretary, Chhattisgarh, Vidhansabha Devendra Verma said.
Verma in a statement said that members will be administered oath on the first day, followed by election of the new Speaker. On January 7, the Governor will address the house while discussion on vote of thanks on the Governor's address will take place on the remaining three days.
According to the government sources, the supplementary budget would also be presented in this session.
Raman Singh-led BJP registered a victory for the third straight time by winning 49 of the 90 seats in the just-concluded Assembly elections. Congress won 39; BSP and an independent candidate won one each.
