New Delhi: The canteen manager of Delhi Assembly RS Sandhu and two senior DDA officials have been arrested in connection with the Ashok Malhotra case. Raids are going on at 10 different locations in Palwal, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon and Delhi in areas where MCD officials having links with Malhotra stay.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has also unearthed another scam involving Malhotra in resettlement of slum dwellers near Badarpur in Delhi.
In the last week of July, the CBI raided residences of Malhotra and his associates and seized Rs 19 lakh and seven kg of gold besides many cars and documents related to property.
Malhotra, a contractor running a canteen in the Delhi Assembly, is in CBI custody in connection the multi-crore land scam case. He was arrested by the CBI outside the Noida studio of a television news channel on August 7.
He was supposed to provide money and new cars to 15 MLAs for opposing Delhi Chief Minster Shiela Dikshit.
The CBI had raided Malhotra's house in Delhi's Mukherjee Nagar area and found a fleet of 52 luxury cars with VIP number plates.
