MYSORE: Corporates and industrialists seem to have decided to register their presence at the 'nadahabba' Dasara which brings lakhs of tourists to the heritage city.They have decided to sponsor for the programme by way of illuminating prominent streets, traffic junctions and structures of the city during the nine days of the festivities.Previously, CESCOM had spent Rs. 1.5 crore to illuminate the palace city. This year, while the CESCOM contractors would illuminate the 'Raja Marga', industries and corporates will light up other prominent places.TVS Motors, which will shortly celebrate its centenary, has been known for illuminating Hardinge Circle for more than a decade. It has now come forward to decorate the road from Hardinge Circle to Gun House Circle with a range of dazzling lights.Wipro has taken the responsibility of illuminating buildings in and around Mysore Palace. Skytop Golf Academy will illuminate roads and junctions from Railway Station to Mysore Urban Development Authority Office.REI, a CFL bulb manufacturing company, will employ CFL and LED bulbs to light up the road from Kurubahalli Circle to the foot of the Chamundi Hill. CESCOM MD P Bore Gowda said that the company will spend `8 lakh on the illuminated welcome signage and `40 lakh to purchase power during the Dasara festivities.He said that the sponsors of three best illuminated roads and junctions would be felicitated during the festivities by Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda. He said that the CESCOM will save Rs. 1.5 crore due to the private participation.
