Alleging that former BJP chief ministers had failed to achieve in over six years what he has in just two months, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Saturday said everything promised in the Congress manifesto will be implemented if the party is voted back to power at the Centre.

Addressing a public meeting soon after his cabinet colleague Harak Singh Rawat filed his nomination from the Pauri Lok Sabha seat, the Chief Minister said he had laid foundation stones of a record number of development projects and issued over 2,000 government orders in his a little over two months' tenure.

"The BJP CMs, three of whom (BC Khanduri, BS Koshiyari and Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank) are contesting the Lok Sabha polls, could not do this in more than six years," the Chief Minister said.

Assuring the people that their aspirations will be fulfilled if Congress is voted back to power at the Centre, Rawat said the party has always been faithful to its manifesto.

Harak Singh Rawat filed his papers on the last day of nominations in Uttarakhand amid much fanfare with prominent party leaders from the state, including former chief minister Vijay Bahuguna, PCC chief Yashpal Arya, Cabinet ministers Indira Hridayesh and Amrita Rawat, attending the public meeting which followed it.

Harish Rawat also took part in an impressive road show which preceded Harak's nomination formalities.

An MLA from Rudraprayag, Harak who was the last high profile leader from the state to file his papers is pitted against former chief minister Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri in Pauri.
