Cracking the whip on rebels, both ruling Congress and opposition BJP on Monday expelled such leaders. Congress expelled 17 rebels, including Harendra Mirdha and state minister of medical and health Raj Kumar Sharma, while BJP expelled 16 members, including former assembly speaker Sumitra Singh.
Mirdha was expelled after he rebelled to contest from Nagaur seat. Sharma, who won last election on BSP ticket and later joined Congress, was denied ticket and is now contesting election as an independent on Nawalgarh seat.
Sitting Congress MLA Rita Chaudhary, who is contesting elections from Mandawa seat against PCC chief Chandrabhan, has also been expelled. She had already announced to leave the primary membership of the party.
Lakshaman Singh Rawat, Ratan lal Tambi, Rajendra Chaudhary, Abdul Aziz, Ram Gopal Bairwa, Vishnu Modi, Salim Bhati are among Congress leaders who have been expelled.
The action was taken on the rebels as per the direction of AICC general secretary incharge Gurudas Kamat. In BJP also, state chief Vasundhara Raje took action against rebels and expelled Sumitra Singh, former speaker of state assembly for turning rebel in Jhunjhunu.
Randheer Singh Bhindar, Manikchand Surana, Nand Kishore Mahariya, Narendra Singh, Raj Kumari Sharma and Naveen Sharma are some of those expelled, according to a spokesperson.
