KORA (Tumkur): The Congress party which is seemingly on its revival in the state, launched a “novel” programme, titled ‘Congress nadige-janara balige’ at Kora village near here on Wednesday. The party workers were pampered and told to woo people by highlighting to them the achievements of the UPA government and the failures of the BJP state government, simultaneously. The leaders sat alongside the workers and held discussions with them to understand their problems. A committee of 30 ordinary workers at the panchayat level was formed.Later, one Mallikarjuna was chosen to inaugurate the function, in which the release of the committee’s tasks topped the agenda. Committee members were presented with saplings and were told to take up afforestation at their level as well. The function was shorn of garlands and bouquets. The 60-day rally, the brain child of KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar, is aimed at bridging the link between leaders and workers, which will conclude on August 15.
