Contract staff going on strike will lose jobs

HYDERABAD: APTransco CMD Ajay Jain on Wednesday warned they would remove 7,000 contract junior linemen working in EHT sub-stations, if they go on strike from August 20.Junior linemen had served a notice to go on strike from Aug 20. Jain, however, recalled that Transco had reached an agreement with 1104, 327 and Telugu Nadu unions on problems of contract employees.  As per the agreement, Transco has decided to give weightage to contract staff in recruitment of permanent junior linemen. He said contract junior linemen had ignored invitation for talks and threatened to go on strike. He warned of losing opportunity to get weightage in future recruitments if they did so.
