Kochi: A man, presumed dead by his relatives, called his family home at nearby Kalady from Goa this morning, hours after last rites were performed on a mutilated body, believing that to be his.
Praveen's family home at Kalady received his usual call at 8 am enquiring about their well-being, family members said.
At first the family was shocked on hearing his voice as only on Wednesday his relatives had identified a badly mutilated body, hit by a train at Ambalapuzha in Alapuzha district to be his.

Police had informed them about the body found on the railway track. George, whose mobile number was found in the pocket of the body, was contacted and based on the identification given by the police, he said the body could be that of Praveen and gave his residence number at Kalady.
