Delhi building collapse traps over 20
Several labourers are trapped at a construction site at Jasola village under Sarita Vihar police station.

New Delhi: Nearly 22 people, mostly labourers, are feared trapped as the basement of an under-construction building in South Delhi collapsed on Saturday evening.

The body of one of the labourers has been recovered.

Sources say 35 people were working in the 60-feet deep basement when it collapsed at about 1810 (IST) hrs.

Over 50 people including the police, labourers and fire brigade officials are presently struggling to rescue those buried in the rubble.

Although six fire tenders and a team of rescue workers have been rushed to the site, no significant rescue work has been carried out as yet.

The building, which is located in Jasola village, is believed to be owned by Uppal Group.
