New Delhi: A fire broke out at a market place in Old Delhi's Sadar Bazar area on Wednesday evening. The fire erupted on the first floor of a building in Matkewali Gali in Sadar Bazar at 7.40 pm, sources in the Delhi Fire Service said.
Twenty-five fire engines, which were immediately rushed to the site, were able to bring the blaze under control by 9.20 pm. While the cause of the fire is not known, no casualties have been reported as yet.
Meanwhile, another fire broke out at a shop at the Bhagirath Palace in Old Delhi's Chandni Chowk area. "Shop number 1672 caught fire at 8.30 pm," sources in the Delhi Fire Service said. Eight fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the fire. No casualties have been reported so far.
