'Depressed Due To Political Conspiracy': Prajwal Revanna Discloses When He'll Appear Before Police In Sex Tape Row
Prajwal Revanna is set to appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on May 31 in connection to the Karnataka sex tape scandal

JD(S) leader and Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna is set to appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on May 31 in connection to the Karnataka sex tape scandal. He called the allegations “a political conspiracy” and said he was in “depression and isolation”. He also apologised to his family for not informing them about his whereabouts.

Revanna reportedly fled the country on April 27, 2024 to Germany using his diplomatic passport shortly after the sex videos involving him went viral.

‘I Into Depression & Isolation’

Revealing the reason behind being incommunicado for over a month, Prajwal said he “went into depression and isolation”. “A few forces in Hassan are against me because I am growing politically,” Revanna said.

“Please don’t mistake me, I’ll be in front of the SIT on May 31 at 10 am. I will cooperate with the police. I trust the judiciary,” he added.

Highlighting that he was unaware of the allegations against him at the time he left the country, the JD(S) leader said, “On April 26, the elections in Karnataka got over, till then there was no case against me. The SIT wasn’t formed. It was after two-three days after I left, I saw on YouTube these allegations against me. I infact wrote to SIT via my lawyer asking for seven days time.”

Prajwal further alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders spoke about it openly in public, saying, “This is a political conspiracy”.

“I apologise as I went into depression and into isolation,” he added.

Prajwal Revanna Sex Tape Row

The 33-year-old Hassan MP, who is the grandson of JDS patriarch and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, is facing charges of sexually abusing women in multiple instances. He reportedly left the country on April 26 after several videos of him sexually abusing multiple women emerged on social media.

Notably, Prajwal’s statement came three days after HD Deve Gowda issued a “stern warning” asking his grandson to come home and face the matter legally, lest he should face his anger and that of the family members leading to his isolation.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also last week wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting to cancel the diplomatic passport of Prajwal.
