New Delhi: The Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Derek O'Brien has questioned that why his name is missing from the parliamentary subcommittee on Net neutrality.

Dismayed over the Chairman of the Parliamentary Panel on Information and Technology and BJP MP Anurag Thakur, Derek reportedly wrote a letter to him asking why his name is missing from the subcommittee on Net neutrality.

"It is difficult to understand why BJP MP Hema Malini is on the panel and not me," his statement reads.

Derek's statement also claimed that he was the first to raise the issue of Net neutrality in the Parliament.

The panel is set to meet on January 6 to discuss the issue.

Meanwhile, another BJD MP Jay Panda has urged the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to watch out for Facebook'S Poll on Free Basics.
