Lucknow/Mumbai: There is no end to protests against Rajkumar Hirani's Amir Khan-starrer 'pk'. Members of Hindu groups on Wednesday protested against the film at Gagan cinema in New Delhi burning the movie's posters.
Protesters have claimed that the movie is anti-Hindu and demanded that it should be banned across the country. The censor board has refused to meet their demands.
On the other hand, the movie has been made tax free in Uttar Pradesh. The decision was taken by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav after he watched 'PK' on Wednesday.
In Maharashtra too, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that his government will respect the censor board's decision and ensure safe screenings across the state.
"People should go watch 'pk'; it is a movie with a message those protesting against the movie should go and watch it first," Maharashtra CM said.
Meanwhile, VHP and Bajrang Dal activists protested at various cinema halls in Delhi. Protestors vandalised a theatre screening the movie saying it was against the religious sentiments of Hindus.
In Madhya Pradesh, too, protestors burnt the posters of the film while demanding a ban on the screening of the movie, directed by Rajumkar Hirani, in Neemuch in Malwa region. The activists proceeded towards Rajmandir movie hall in Bhopal with saffron flags in their hands and demanded that the screening of the movie should be stopped.
