Engineering colleges to follow existing norms
Engineering colleges to follow existing norms

The stay on government's order on online counselling to fill management quota seats in private engineering colleges in the state has led to a slew of advertisements being released by colleges which have not announced admissions to Category-B seats till now.

Around 83 colleges, which had applied for a fee hike, issued notification announcing admissions under the management quota in July soon after the EAMCET results were declared.

Since the Government Orders 66 and 67 were struck down by the High Court on Tuesday, the colleges are proceeding with the admission norms mentioned in Government Orders 74 and 75 which had been followed till last academic year.

“We will follow the existing procedure as the court verdict on the petition filed by the state government in the Supreme Court may take a long time and upset the academic schedule,” said KVK Rao, a representative of St.

Mary's group and chairman of the association representing colleges which have been opposing task force inspections.

The association says it is no more averse to inspections but its objection to inclusion of officials from the revenue and police departments in the task force committees stands.
